The phenomenon known as Chronic Sorrow is being discussed Monday during a lecture at the Sachem Public Library.
According to the library's website Jim Van Tassell, nursing supervisor from the Developmental Disabilities Institute, will discuss the feelings of recurring grief for parents or caregivers with family members who have developmental disabilities or chronic health conditions. Strategies for managing these conditions will be discussed, and light refreshments will be served.
The lecture takes place Monday at 7 p.m. at the library's 150 Holbrook Rd. location in Holbrook.
