Suffolk County Police are investigating a crash that killed a Farmingville man while he was driving on North Ocean Avenue in Holtsville earlier today.
Police say Henry Villegas, 56, was driving a 2010 Dodge northbound on North Ocean just south of Summerfield Drive at around 12:30 p.m. when he crossed over into the southbound lane. Villegas collided with a 2013 Volkswagen driven by Samantha Velez.
Villegas was rushed by Medford Ambulance to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Velez, 22, of Holtsville was also transported to Brookhaven and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
There were no passengers in either vehicle, according to police. Both vehicles have been impounded for safety checks and the investigation by Fifth Squad detectives is ongoing.
