Ronkonkoma Celebrity Softball Game Is Today

CYA Compound in Ronkonkoma will host first-ever charity game, with Babe Ruth's granddaughter throwing out first pitch.

Today the Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce will kick off its first First Annual Celebrity Softball game at 2 p.m. at the CYA Compound on Easton Street in Ronkonkoma. The proceeds collected from this celebrity-packed sporting event will benefit "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer." 

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by visiting the Chamber's website. Gates open at 11 a.m. The first pitch will be thrown by Linda Ruth Tosetti, the granddaughter of legendary Babe Ruth.

Other celebrities expected to attend the event:

  • Claudia Welles (of "Back to the Future" fame)
  • American Idol Contestant Robbie Rosen
  • Steve Grillo (from the Howard Stern Show)
  • Former Montreal Expo Pitcher Don Demola
  • Cindy Cobb McGowin (granddaughter of legendary Ty Cobb)
  • Former Yankee Frank Tepedino
  • And a list of others
Food and concessions will be sold at the game and attendees are encourages to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets. Bathrooms will be provided on site. The game will take place on Field #9 at the complex.
