Jay Mauro, the head coach at Sachem North, will be tweeting about his program.
Sachem North lacrosse coach Jay Mauro brought his program into the digital era two weeks ago when he launched the program's Twitter account @Sachem_Lax. He used his team's trip to Maryland as a perfect opportunity to begin tweeting, immediately posting commentary about the experience and even going as far as posting photos that parents sent him via email. "We want to connect to our alumni, current players, parents, fans and the future Sachem North lacrosse players," Mauro said. "This is the new wave and as a coach you always have to adjust. Dave Falco has given the Flaming Arrows an online presence.
Whether it’s the third jersey to commemorate Sachem’s 50th anniversary, the flat black helmet color or the older additions of the blow up Native American headdress and professionally recorded fight song, the Sachem football program is clearly a progressive organization. More than half of teens in recent study say social media sites have helped them become more aware of the needs of others; what's your take?
A recent study by an international Christian relief and development organization suggests that teens who spend time on social media sites such a Facebook and Twitter have a better understanding of the needs of others. More than half of teens (55 percent) said that social media sites have made them more aware of the needs of others, acccording to the World Vision study. More than two-thirds of the teens surveyed also agreed that the benefits of social media outweigh the risks. Well, it's one thing to poll teens on their thoughts about Facebook. Sachem alum Bryan Petillo tweets tips about lacrosse goaltending.
Sachem alum Bryan Petillo is tweeting from a new account just about tips for lacrosse goaltenders. Petillo, who won a National Championship at Tufts two seasons ago, is using @LaxGoalieTips to post random updates about the position. Follow him now for interesting and unique insight on playing goalie. So far he's posted training techniques: "Learn to juggle! Increase your eye-hand coordination by practicing and learning. And its always impressive when you really get good!" or "Jump rope at least 20 min a day to increase foot speed! Get more comfortable on the balls of your feet and quicker with stepping to the ball."
