Executive Chef Guy's Annual All American Pig Roast
Executive Chef Guy Reuge of Mirabelle Restaurant at Three Village Inn is hosting his annual “All American Pig Roast” on Friday beginning at 6 p.m. The event will feature a special pig roast menu with unlimited wine, beer and sangria and live music by Buddy Meriam’s Bluegrass Trio. Tickets are all-inclusive. Cost for adults is $55 and $20 for children under twelve-years-old. Click above for the full menu.
Minnesauke Elementary Halloween Festival
A Spooktacular time for elementary schoolers. Event is hosted by Minnesauke's PTA and 6th grade. Entry is $6 per child at the door, parents free with a non-perishable food or toiletry donation to the food pantry. Two sessions- 6 pm-7:15 and 7:30- 8:45. Refreshments, raffle tickets and candy corn guessing game will also be available for sale.
Three Village’s 1st Annual Bink-a-thon
Saturday from 8:00am to 11:00am volunteers, including local community members, students, boy scouts and girl scouts, will be making blankets to be donated to the Pediatric Oncology Department at Stony Brook University Hospital. Volunteers are asked to bring a good pair of scissors and a 36 x 36 inch square of fleece in any color and/or design. Volunteers do not need to know how to sew, knit, or crochet to participate. Children volunteers in Kindergarten through 3rd grade need adult supervision.
In this workshop, accomplished artist Laura Westlake will teach you how to create exquisite images using colored pencils. Everyone from novices to skilled artists are invited to try out this technique. By the end of the workshop students will produce one complete colored pencil drawing. Only basic drawing skills are required. Sat. and Sun. from 12-4pm. Course fee: $180.
Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn will be co-hosting “Barkfest 2013” on Saturday at noon. The event, billed as Long Island’s largest pet costume and parade, will be held at the Holiday Inn Express, 3131 Nesconset Highway in Stony Brook. Bring your pooch and join over 500 of the best dressed creatures on the planet during this free event.
Miller Place-Rocky Point
The Equestrian Program at The Knox School is hosting “Horse-Around Day” on Saturday, October 26 from 11 am – 2 pm at its historic horseshoe shaped stables, located at 541 Long Beach Road, St. James. The event is free and a great way to spend an afternoon with the kids.
Looking for something fun to do with your kids to prep for Halloween? This weekend, Stir up a batch of colorful “Witches Brew” slime at The Maritime Explorium every Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday Oct. 25, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sayville High School cafeteria. The annual fundraiser for the Greater Sayville Food Pantry is sponsored by the Sayville High School Art Club.
Sunday, October 27, 9 a.m. at Blue Point Firehouse, Blue Point Ave. The Blue Point Bayport Lions Club is hosting a Halloween Pancake Breakfast to benefit the Guide Dog Foundation and local community charities and needs. Adults $7.00, Seniors and children $5.00, children under 3 free.
Fall Festival at YMCA
A fall festival is taking place Saturday from 12 p.m.-3 p.m. at the Brookhaven Roe YMCA at 155 Buckley Road in Holtsville. Festival includes family zumba, pumpkin bowling, prizes for wearing a costume, family kickboxing, Tai Chi, Sack Race, Corn Hole, Can Jam, hay rides and other festivities.
Rave On Performance at Sachem Public Library
Music of Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and early rock and roll legends will take place at Sachem Public Library, 150 Holbrook Rd. in Holbrook, Sunday at 2 p.m.
Patchogue
A ghoulish ride down the Patchogue River combining live actors, filmed footage and element of disorientation from sailing on a boat with windows blacked out sets sail throughout the weekend. Click through for hours and ticket information.
Patchogue-Medford High School Homecoming Saturday
Parade is taking place on Main Street in Patchogue at 11 a.m. near the intersection of South Ocean Avenue. Game will take place at 2 p.m. at Patchogue-Medford High School, 181 Buffalo Ave. in Medford, with the Raiders taking on Half Hollow Hills
Festival taking place on Main Street between Maple and Havens Avenue in Patchogue Saturday from 12 p.m.-5 p.m. A costume parade is taking place at 1 p.m. Also taking place will be a petting zoo, pony rides, chili and chowder contest, face painting among other festivities.
