Zeldin Hosting Food Drive Competition

Senator is looking for donations of canned goods and non-perishable items.

New York State Senator Lee Zeldin, R, C, I- Shirley, in partnership with Island Harvest, has teamed up with other elected officials and community groups for an island-wide 2011 Holiday Food Drive competition to help those less fortunate this winter. The competition will run until December 30.

Zeldin is asking for donations of canned goods and non-perishable items such as canned beans, milk, fruits, vegetables, juices, meats, fish, soups, stews, and peanut butter that will go to help needy families on Long Island.

“I am pleased to be joining Island Harvest and my legislative colleagues to help ensure that those less fortunate among us do not go hungry this holiday season,” said Zeldin, in a statement.
