Volunteers Gathering At Sachem North To Find Missing Autistic Boy
Residents will meet Saturday at the school to hand out fliers.
Volunteers are gathering at Sachem High School North, 212 Smith Rd. in Lake Ronkonkoma, Saturday at 12 p.m. to help in the search of a 14-year-old severely autistic boy.
According to a Facebook Page titled Bring Avonte Home, Avonte Oquendo of Queens has been missing since Oct. 4. Those coming to the high school Saturday are going to hand out fliers in the Ronkonkoma and Holbrook areas surrounding the Ronkonkoma Long Island Rail Road station, said Sachem Board of Education trustee Christine Lampitelli at Wednesday night's BOE meeting at Samoset Middle School.
