Fashion Show Fundraiser Held at Villa Lombardi's

Fundraiser raises $8,000 for youth services and Brookhaven Animal Shelter.

(PMYCS) held its third annual Fashion Show Fundraiser recently at in Holbrook.

The event was held in collaboration with Brookhaven Town in order to raise funds to support both PMYCS and the Brookhaven Animal Shelter.

Shawn Hirst, executive director at PMYCS, said the event raised more than $8,000 that will go directly towards the youth programs and services at PMYCS, and toward life saving surgeries for the animals at the shelter.

Hirst said that the fundraisers are important for the organization, which runs free youth programs, due to the economy.

"We've been faced by drastic budget cuts and by raising money on our own we can supplement those cuts," Hirst said.

Those that walked down the aisle included members of PMYCS, a dog that can be adopted from Brookhaven Animal Shelter, Patchogue Village Mayor Paul Pontieri and Councilwoman Kathy Walsh.
