Iraq and Afghanistan War Veteran To Receive New Home

Groundbreaking ceremony to be held on Wednesday in Lake Ronkonkoma

A groundbreaking ceremony is set to take place for the future home of a wounded veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

On Wednesday at 11 a.m., the public is welcome to view the ceremony, which will begin the construction of a three bedroom, two bathroom ranch costumized for Marine Sergeant Ryan Donnelly, according to a release from Long Island Builders Care Develpment Corp., which is spearheading the project. Donnelly served in Iraq and Afghanistan from 2002-2006 and was severely wounded in Fallujah. He received the Purple Heart for his sacrifice.

The home will be built on Clarendon Drive in Lake Ronkonkoma. The lot is on the north side between numbers 61 and 67. Patch will have more on this story later in the week.
