Photo of the Day: Hydrangea Summer

The image of summer, freshly blossomed hydrangea.

Nothing signals late June like the puffy bloom of hydrangeas filling out the beds. The cultivation and care of these flowers begins in late fall when the previous year's growth is cut down. Acidity and Ph levels in the soil is also known to influence the color of the blossom.

These hydrangeas can be enjoyed by everyone. This photo was taken at Sachem Public Library's Inside/Out Park.
