Photo Gallery: T'ai Chi at Sachem Library

Dozens use the Inside/Out space to learn this ancient martial art and health exercise.

Earlier today, about two dozen residents took part in a free lesson on T'ai Chi, the ancient martial art form that combines self-defense maneuvers with slow-motion forms of the hands, arms, and hips. The exercise is generally used to help stretch out tight muscles and let each person meditate in some quiet serenity.

The free event was part of the Sachem Library's ongoing series on the form. Click through the gallery to get a look at the Inside/Out Garden and the T'ai Chi participants.
