The Comedy of Wild Willy Sacco

Wild Willy Sacco, comedian is a tour de force. Nobody like him and nobody can follow him on stage. I know because I have tried.

Comedians are an odd bunch. The average person cannot imagine being in a room full of strangers and trying to make them laugh. People are jaded. They have heard it all and seen it all. Comedy giants like Carlin and Seinfeld have cornered the market on observational comedy. It's hard to imagine anything remotely new.

I felt this way until I saw comedian, Wild Willy Sacco. I know Willy for a long time. He has been in and out of the comedy scene since the early 90's. Originally from Bayshore, now a Huntington resident, Willy's brand of comedy must be seen to understand. Although, after the first two minutes, you may be confused, there is no doubt you will be laughing harder than you could have ever imagined.

Willy describes his act as a blend of many factors, but mostly a dancer's ability, combined with manic energy, and a comedic mind. He comes at you from a place that would make Robin Williams nervous. When Willy hits the stage, hilarity ensues. He is extrememly hard to follow. I know this, as a comedian. I have been on many shows with him and I would implore to the booker "please put me on before Willy".

Willy has had some success over the years. Specifically, he was seen on Last Comic Standing. He has performed at The Borgata in Atlantic City and was taken under the wing of actor Danny Aiello. Willy was the regular opening act for Bob Nelson some years back.

These days, Willy enjoys different venues. His favorite being Samantha's Lil' Bit Of Heaven, a coffee house in East Northport.

The business is very difficult and guys like Willy hit brick walls, throw their hands up in the air and quit. We have all been there. But he always returns.

Why?

Wily explains "I feel like I am supposed to do this" "The good nights keep me going" "I know I have something different from every other act and when I quit I get anxious to go back. I know this feeling all too well.

What is next for Willy? He has been tirelessly working on a documentary of his career and backstory as a comedian. He hopes for a release date very soon. He wants to combine his dancing and singing abilities with his stand-up to create a full tour de force of entertainment.
