Mo Diggs - Funniest Egyptian in History ?

When you think of Egyptians, you think Pyramids, Pharaohs, political turmoil, maybe? How about stand up comedy? Well, now you can because a certain funnyman named Mo Diggs is on a mission to become the funniest Egyptian in history. I am not sure if any of the hieroglyphics discovered in Alexandria included jokes about Guido study courses, but you will find unusual premises like that and more when you see Mo Diggs.

Originally from New Jersey, now a Riverhead resident, Mo has been kicking around the local circuit for about seven years. In stand-up comedy years, that’s practically an infant. But this 30 something comic is a hard worker on stage. As a recovering addict, he takes pleasure in performing for many charitable organizations as well as the usual clubs. He recalls “I performed at this inpatient rehab for drug addicted teens. The comedy show was presented as a reward for them. So I, as well as the other comics on the bill, made their day. I'd never seen so much gratitude”

Mo realizes the struggle and time it takes to become a good stand-up comedian. He has performed in every type of venue, including a crowd that only spoke Russian. “I was the only English speaking comic on the bill. Usually I try to handle things like a comic, but I hacked it up that night. I made wacky faces, lifted my shirt and made my belly jiggle. Nothing. The only thing that could have made the night worse would be if I got paid in Russian money”.

Why does he do it? As Mo says “I like the craft. I like making people laugh, developing new ideas. I like hanging out with comics. It's a passion of mine. I really feel more comfortable confessing my inner most thoughts to audiences and getting laughs than saying them to a friend and feeling like I'm monopolizing a conversation. Here, you can monopolize a conversation for a living!” (Well put Mo)

Mo is a warrior, who refuses to let the business get the best of him. He refuses to
quit. His goal is to get that solid hour, record an album and start a podcast.
That may sound familiar, since that coincides with the goal of about a million
other comics, but Mo Diggs has something that sets him apart.
