Here are a few reasons you should stop by the game tonight in Lake Ronkonkoma:
- Week 7 action against Brentwood
- Great American Rivalry Series Game festivities
- 25th Anniversary of 1986 Rutgers Trophy team
- Youth team is shadowing the varsity for part of the night
- Fred Fusaro and a handful of key figures from 86 will be in attendance
- Homecoming fireworks/parade rescheduled for tonight
- Dalton Crossan continues to climb up the all-time Sachem rushing list. He's currently at No. 5.
Enough said.
Match-up: Sachem North (5-1) vs. William Floyd (2-4)
Time/Venue: Friday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m./ Fred Fusaro Alumni Stadium
In game battles: It's difficult to get a read on Brentwood. They won their last game, 20-0 over Patchogue-Medford, but played below average for most of the 2011 season. Now, however, Brentwood is actually fighting for a possible playoff birth in Division I if it wins the final two games and other teams lose. Chris Green is a threat at running back for the Indians. For Sachem, Dalton Crossan will be playing like a man possessed from now until the end of the season.
Next up: Sachem travels to Lindenhurst, Friday, October 28 at 7 p.m. for the final regular season game of 2011.
Stay tuned to Sachem Patch for complete coverage of the game.
