Week Seven Preview: Sachem East at Lindenhurst

Both teams vying for final playoff spots in Suffolk's Division I.

Lindenhurst and Sachem East are coming off losses in Week 6. Lindenhurst to Longwood and Sachem East to West Islip.

Both teams are vying for a playoff spot in Suffolk County's Division I and will need to win their remaining two games to secure a post-season bid.

Lindenhurst has a balanced approach in its offense. Quarterback Brad Witkowski has thrown consistently well in each of their wins and their running and receiving core consists of at least six or seven threats.

For Sachem East, while the Anthony Riggi-Brian Balsalmo passing tandem is fun to watch at times, everyone knows Sachem's backbone for points and yardage is Steven Casali out of the backfield. Even during losing efforts Casali has been unstoppable.

In game battles: Lindenhurst has to contain Casali and watch Balsalmo on passes. Sachem has to keep an eye on multiple offensive set ups. Either way it will be a battle with playoff implications.

Next up: Sachem East hosts Brentwood on Friday, October 28, at 7 p.m. Lindenhurst will host Sachem North Friday, , at 6 p.m.
