Video: Boomer Esiason Talks Empire Challenge

His foundation has raised more than $100 million to fight cystic fibrosis.

The Boomer Esiason Foundation has raised more than $100 million in the fight against cystic fibrosis. Every year the Empire Challenge football game is played between the top all-stars on Long Island and in New York City.

Now in its 16th season, the Challenge is a premier all-star event meant to raise money and awareness for cystic fibrosis and to harness the fun and passion for football in the tri-state area.

Esiason was born and raised in East Islip, played for the University of Maryland and spent 14 seasons in the NFL. Today he runs the Boomer Esiason Foundation, is an on-air personality for WFAN and the commentator for Westwood One's broadcast of Monday Night Football.
