The Dalton Crossan File

A look at Crossan's college football recruiting journey.

Sachem Patch will be following Sachem North's Dalton Crossan during his recruiting process, highlighting the ups and downs of traveling the country in hopes of finding the college he'll spend the next four years playing at.

As reported earlier this month, Crossan has interest from Rutgers, Penn State, Syracuse, a full ride on the table from Stony Brook and a growing list of other candidates, which now include Purdue, Miami, N.C. State, Western Michigan and others.

Rutgers has been hot on Crossan for some time and he's gone there a handful of times with another spring practice visit coming up soon. A receivers coach at the school told him they like him as a slot receiver and he's the only player they're recruiting for the position.

"It makes my chances very good," Crossan said.

Since offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti just got the job at Rutgers in January, he hasn't seen Crossan play live.

Crossan is waiting for that first offer, so the others start coming in after.

He received a letter to attend the University of Miami's prospect camp, is scheduling a visit to N.C. State, should be at a spring game at Boston College next month and said he is attending a summer camp at Syracuse, where Doug Marrone, a friend of Sachem coach Dave Falco, is the head coach. In total, Crossan said he'll hit the road to 10 or 12 locations in the next few months.

Western Michigan, a MAC school, also seems very interested, Crossan said.

"It’s beyond exciting," Crossan said. "The feeling of being wanted by all these big schools to see that the work I’ve done is paying off is great."

Next up: Stay tuned for updates on Crossan's visits to Buffalo and Purdue.
