Suffolk County Quarterfinals Preview: No. 1 Sachem North vs. No. 8 Pat-Med

Flaming Arrows host Raiders in local rivalry and post-season match up.

Most of the time the 1 vs. 8 matchups are one-sided, but a Sachem-Patchogue-Medford game always means a litte more on the gridiron.

These teams have played some of the most historic games in each school's history: Sachem beat Pat-Med in 1977 to win its first Suffolk County title, and Pat-Med beat Sachem in 2002 to win a county title, ending legendary head coach Fred Fusaro's career with a loss.

Patchogue has seen impressive outtings from Chris Makulik and Joe Altrui out of the back field. It has a strong line and more importantly, a will to win since its the first time the Raiders have been in the post-season in three years.

Sachem has one of the highest scoring offenses on Long Island this season. Led by one of the top running backs, turned quarterback, in the area, Dalton Crossan is one tough nut to crack in terms of defensive coverage.
