Shanahan, a 1987 Sachem alum, was a senior during Sachem's and Rutgers run, which Fusaro coached. That team celebrated its 25th anniversary this year during a ceremony at Fred Fusaro Alumni Stadium.

Shortly after retiring from Sachem in 2003, where he spent 32 years at the helm and won six county titles, Fusaro jumped on board with Shanahan at Glenn.

The victory is career win No. 100 for Shanahan in his 17 seasons as head coach. He is 100-52-2. Fusaro won 192 games at Sachem.

Glenn will look to win its second straight Long Island title next weekend against Nassau County's Roosevelt.

Sachem North, meanwhile, will play in the Division I Suffolk County final Sunday at 4 p.m.
