A look at the best of the best in the Sachem athletics program.

Here's a look at the top athletes from Sachem this week:

Meagan Doherty, Sachem East girls basketball: She scored the 1,000th point of her career on Friday in a big win over William Floyd, then scored a game-high 16 points in a win over rival Sachem North on Saturday.

Billy Merone, Sachem East wrestling: While a handful of his teammates had dominant wins against opponents in their dual meet against Central Islip last week, Merone picked up a tech fall against Christian Cobo, willing 16-0 in 4:16.

Francesco Napoli, Sachem North wrestling: In his team's 39-22 dual meet win against William Floyd, he picked up a fall win over Thomas Perkins in 55 seconds.

Sachem North Girls 4x200 relay team: The Sachem North girls winter track and field team ran its fourth fastest 4x200-meter relay in the last 20 years at Saturday’s Hispanic Games held at the New Balance Track & Field Center in New York City. The relay was led off by frosh Alyssa Leto who, earlier in the meet, moved up the team All-Time Top 25 list in the 55-meter dash. Her time of 7.73 is the No. 6 Sachem time since 1992 and her season-best split of 27.9 put the squad – seeded No. 25 going into the meet – in second place in the heat at the first handoff.  Sophomore Sunja Joseph – a new addition to the Top 25 list after her 7.97 time in the 55-meter dash today – ran a season-best 28.2 relay split as the relay slipped into third place. Frosh Nikki Fogarty, who ran a No. 7 Top 25 time in the 55-meter hurdles earlier in the meet, dashed to a career-best 27.7 in the relay’s third leg to close the gap on the relays ahead of Sachem. Melissa Michels, currently Suffolk County’s #2 55 meter sprinter, nearly caught her nearest rival with a season-best 26.2 anchor.  The relay’s time of 1:50.29 is the fastest Sachem time since the North Arrows ran a 1:49.16 at the 2007 Stanner Games.
