The Sachem North Girls Soccer Schedule has been released by Section XI, the governing body that oversees high school sports in Suffolk County.
The season begins on September 5 when the Flaming Arrows travel to Kings Park. The season will be a challenging one, considering many key players in last year's successful campaign graduated last June, including goalkeeper Erin McNulty and midfielder Emily Jones.
Last season, Sachem finished with a record of 11-5-1, after securing the 11th seed in Class AA and upsetting the 6th ranked Hauppauge Eagles in the opening round of the playoffs. They went on to host number 14 Connetquot, defeating them 2-1 on a late goal by Jones. The team lost a heartbreaker in the semifinals, giving up a late goal in a 1-0 loss to Northport.
North will have its chance to avenge that loss on September 21 when they travel to Northport. They host the team toward the end of the season on October 12. Other key dates to circle: October 1 and October 20; the team's two games against Connetquot.
