Sachem North lacrosse coach Jay Mauro brought his program into the digital era two weeks ago when he launched the program's Twitter account @Sachem_Lax.
He used his team's trip to Maryland as a perfect opportunity to begin tweeting, immediately posting commentary about the experience and even going as far as posting photos that parents sent him via email.
"We want to connect to our alumni, current players, parents, fans and the future Sachem North lacrosse players," Mauro said. "This is the new wave and as a coach you always have to adjust. This is it!"
Many current and former Sachem players are currently on Twitter and share their experiences about the game, including Rutgers head men's lacrosse coach and Sachem alum Brian Brecht, who tweets from @RULaxCoach.
Sachem football coach Dave Falco also opened up accounts on Twitter last year, communicating from @SachemFootball and @CoachFalco.
