Sachem Lacrosse Alumni Notebook

A look at how some former Sachem lax players are doing in college.

With an average of 20 new lacrosse players from Sachem East and North, boys and girls, playing at the college level each season, there are countless alumni representing the community at the next level.

At certain points of the season, we'd like to shed light on some of them. Sachem Patch will post other notebooks throughout the season.

Courtney Bertolone, Sachem East 2008/Stony Brook: Has started in 9 of 12 games and scored three goals, added two assists and picked up 16 ground balls.

Evan Bloom, Sachem North 2010/Dartmouth: Has played in four games this year and registered two ground balls.

Will Carey, Sachem North 2009/Adelphi: Has played in five games and registered 5 ground balls.

Cody Ciolino, Sachem North 2010/Hartwick: He's registered two assists in five games.

James Curcio, Sachem East 2008/Hartwick: He's registered one assist and 13 ground balls in 10 games.

Vito Demola, Sachem East 2007/Dowling: Leads Dowling with 29 goals and 32 points.

Melissa Goncalves, Sachem East 2009/Manhattanville: She leads the Valiants with 69 points this year. Her 50 goals are second on the team and she has started all 16 games. She reached the 100-point mark for her career this season as a sophomore.

Craig Goodermote, Sachem East 2010/Marist: He has started two games and won both contests at Marist. Goodermote, a freshman, also sports a .571 save percentage.

John Grebe, Sachem East 2010/Molloy: He has played two games in net for Molloy, allowing one goal in 3:11 of play.

Jesse Grimm, Sachem East 2009/Hartwick: Grimm is the lead faceoff man for Hartwick, winning 43 percent of the draws he's taken (64-of-146). He's also scored a goal and registered one assist.

Harry Hughes, Sachem East 2009/ Hartwick: Leads Hartwick in scoring with 34 goals and 45 points.

Jimmy Johnston, Sachem East 2007 /C.W. Post: He's fourth on Post's roster with 12 goals and 15 points this season. Post is looking to win its third straight national title.

James Kenny, Sachem North 2010/Dowling: Has played in three games so far this season.

Kate Kmiotek, Sachem East 2008/Sacred Heart: Coming off an All-NEC selection last year, she leads Sacred heart with 22 goals and 33 points.

Nick Lacagnina, Sachem East 2007/C.W. Post: He's started all 12 games at midfield this season. The senior is looking to go out a champion.

Peter Lacagnina, Sachem East 2010/C.W. Post: Injured his hip and had surgery, so is taking a medical red shirt this year.

Samantha Lynott, Sachem East 2008/Stonehill College: A Division II All-America selection last year, Lynott again leads Stonehill in scoring with 52 points and 33 goals in 11 games.

Nick Massaro, Sachem East 2010/Adelphi: Has played in five games and registered 3 ground balls.

Andy Moran, Sachem North 2010/Assumption: Has recorded four ground balls in 10 games.

Mike Morrison, Sachem East 2008/Hartwick: He's played in all 11 games, scoring one goal, adding three assists, scooping 33 ground balls and winning 7-of-21 faceoffs.

Will Murphy, Sachem North 2010/Manhattan: He has played in one game so far this season.

Jackie Pandolf, Sachem North 2008/Hofstra: She has played in every single minute of Hofstra's season this year, sporting a 10.86 goals against average and a 4-7 record in net.

Jessica Pandolf, Sachem North 2010/Lock Haven: She's not the only Pandolf woman playing college lacrosse ... Jess has started all 12 games, scoring 25 goals and picking up 21 ground balls.

Lauren Pribetich, Sachem East 2010/Manhattan: Has played in seven games so far and recorded three ground balls.

Billy Richardson, Sachem North 2009/Dowling: He has scored one goal and added six assists, as well as 12 ground balls.

Phil Schaefer, Sachem North 2010/Hartwick: He's third on the team in scoring with 19 goals and 31 points.

Cameron Walsh, Sachem East 2010/St. Andrew's Presbyterian: Has started all 15 games and is third in scoring with 23 goals and 30 points. He was recently selected Conference Carolinas All-Conference Second Team as a freshman.

Dylan Walsh, Sachem East 2008/ Maritime: Walsh, a junior midfielder and the older brother of Cameron, and has recorded 2 assists and 12 ground balls in nine games this season.
