Sachem Hockey Improves to 11-6 with Win over Northport/Huntington

Arrows have seven different goal scorers in 13-3 victory.

For the first time since Oct. 24, 2011, Sachem hockey fielded a complete team and the scoring sheet showed as much. The Arrows had seven different goal scorers in a 13-3 win over Northport/Huntington at The Rinx in Hauppauge, N.Y. Sunday evening.

Scoring for Sachem was Chris Chizziniti (3g, 2a), Chris Porcillo (2g, 3a), Alex Posillico (1g, 2a), Chris Haun (2g, 1a), Nick tarasco (2g, 1a), Eric Santiago (1g, 2a), Robbie Donnelly (2g) and Mike Buffalino and Chris DiGiovanna pitched in by assisting on a goal.

The Arrows came out a bit slow but scored first to take a 1-0 lead. Then with two penalities in a row NP/H capitalized by scoring two power play goals. Sachem came right back to tie it only to let NP/H score a third power play goal. The first period ended with Northport leading, 3-2. As the game progressed, the Arrows came to life and went on a scoring bing by netting the next eleven goals , seven in the second period and four in the third.

"It sure feels good to get everyone back in the line-up," said Sachem coach Al Posillico. "With only three games left in the regular season and two against kings Park/Commack, we must bring our A game if we want to secure third place."

Along with the 13 goals, Sachem also got credited with 14 assists on those goals "and like I said, if we continue to do this we can beat any team out there," Posillico said. "The only way we will lose is if we beat ourselves and become selfish. It was a great job tonight, a total team effort."

Sachem will host Kings Park/Commack Monday January 9 at 9:30 p.m. at The Rinx. The game will air on MSG Varsity.
