Sachem Football Teams Wear Pink in October

Football players across the country have worn pink this month to honor Breast Cancer Awareness.

With the NFL and NCAA as role models in setting examples for younger athletes, Sachem East and North football also adopted the uniform policy to allow their players to wear pink this month.

“This is really an important issue in our society, especially on Long Island,” Sachem North football coach Dave Falco said. “It’s important to keep it fresh in everybody’s minds.”

Sachem North senior Dalton Crossan has worn pink gloves and arm bands this month.

“It’s nice to support the cause and raise awareness this month,” he said.
