Sachem East Girls Lax Ousted by Bay Shore

Arrows season comes to an end with playoff loss.

After upsetting East Islip in the first round of the Suffolk County Class AA playoffs, the Sachem East girls ended their season with a 15-6 loss to second-seeded Bay Shore in the quarterfinals Monday afternoon on the road.

The tenth-seeded Arrows finished their 2011 campaign with a 11-7 overall record. 

On Monday, Katie Trombetta led Sachem with three goals and two assists. Also scoring were Jackie Morrison (1g), Melissa McKeveny (1g) and Kara McCabe (1g).

Goalie Jen Gazdick made 12 saves.

Sachem, very young in multiple areas of the game, will be back next season and should earn a higher seed in pre-rankings before the 2012 season begins.

Bay Shore will host third-seeded West Islip in the semifinals on Wednesday.
