Sachem Arrowettes Win National Championship

Arrowettes jumped from fourth to first place to win jazz dance title.

Sachem North captured its second national title in as many weeks last week when the Arrowettes won a Small Varsity National Championship in Orlando.

Sachem competed against 17 teams in the country. They danced Saturday night in the preliminary round and went into finals in fourth place.

“The girls had another chance to perform at finals and really showed the judges that they were not ready to give up yet,” said Sachem coach Katie Prusinski. “Their dance looked incredible and they really showed their talent and poise while stepping onto that national stage in Hard Rock Live.”

Sachem went from fourth place to first. Its final score was 9.665.

“That is a very difficult thing to do at such a competitive competition,” Prusinski said. “Each dance in the category  was better than the next. I have never seen such a great reaction to winning as Sachem North had on Sunday evening. We were so sincerely thankful for the title.
