Here's our weekly look at alumnis on the college scene from Sachem:

Pandolf nets career-high in saves: Last Sunday, Sachem alum and Hofstra senior goalie Jaclyn Pandolf made another huge statement for the Hofstra women’s lacrosse team as the fourth-year goalkeeper was superb in net for the Pride, making a career-high 20 saves, but No. 3 Maryland pulled away late for an 11-4 victory over Hofstra.

Hennelly earns rookie honors for NJCBA: Sachem alum Brian Hennelly earned the NJCBA’s Top Rookie of the Week for Steven's Tech. Hennelly saw action in four of the team’s five contests to start the season and hit at a .600 clip. In the first game against Yeshiva, Hennelly entered the lineup as a pinch hitter and batted 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs scored and two walks. He then earned a start in Game 2 and recorded four hits in five at bats with a double. Hennelly once again drove in four runs and scored twice more. In the second game against Baruch, Hennelly picked up one hit in three at bats with an RBI, according to Steven's Tech.

Hartwick is Sachem: With seven players on the men's lacrosse roster from Sachem, Hartwick has a strong Flaming Arrows presence. Sachem East alum Harry Hughes scored six goals to lead Hartwick to a season-opening 14-3 win over Mount St. Mary on Tuesday afternoon. On Saturday, Hartwick was on Long Island to play Farmingdale and won 10-9. Sachem alums assisted or scored on each of the 10 goals. .

Ruland leads UDC to NCAA Tourney: Sachem alum and former NBA player Jeff Ruland has done wonders as head men's basketball coach at the University of the District of Columbia. The No. 8 Firebirds fell to No. 2 Stonehill, 65-61, in the NCAA East Region quarterfinals on Saturday. District of Columbia, playing in its first NCAA Tournament in 25 years, finished the season 22-6 overall. To put that record in perspective, UDC was 1-20 two seasons ago and 11-15 last year.
