Sachem Alum Named CAA Player of the Week

Laura Greene grabs honors after big week of scoring.

Sachem East alum and Holbrook native Laura Greene, a senior forward at Hofstra, was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Soccer Player of the Week, announced this week by the conference office, and was also named the SoccerSavings.com Big Apple Soccer Player of the Week.

According to her school, Greene earned the honors after being named the Offensive MVP of the New York City Classic this weekend, helping the Pride capture the championship with a 2-0 win over Columbia and a 5-0 win over Albany. She scored four times over the two games, all of which came after individual dribbling runs of 30 yards of more.

She spent the week involved in big plays at crucial moments for the Prde.
