Sachem alum David Kramer has been promoted to interim men's lacrosse coach for 2010-2011 at Herkimer County Community College.
"David has a wealth of lacrosse experience, and I am confident he will provide excellent leadership for the program and our student-athletes," said HCCC athletic director Donald Dutcher.
Kramer, who was a four-year letter winner at the University of Massachusetts, was a member of the Sachem's 1993 New York State championship team and 1995 New York State finalist team.
In 1995 Kramer was elected to the All-Division and All-County as a midfielder and was selected to play in the exceptional senior game.
"Dave always played hard and dedicated himself to doing anything needed to ensure the success of the team," said former Sachem lacrosse coach Rick Mercurio. "He is, in large part, one of the players responsible for our achievements during those years."
Kramer previously served as an assistant lacrosse coach at Hamilton College. He was head coach at The Queen Anne School in upper Marlboro Maryland where he led the Loins to their first playoff victory in the school's history. He also served as lead assistant coach at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, Maryland.
Kramer replaces Richard Dommer who resigned in July after four years as head coach for the Generals.
Sachem Patch will be expanding on this story in the coming days.
