Sachem East Girls Tennis: Miller Place 4, Sachem 3 ... In a matchup of two unbeaten League VI teams, Sachem East lost a tough match to Miller Place Wednesday, 4-3. While the team didn’t win, each girl played very well, according to coach Sean Holden, and they had close individual matches across the board. Senior Rebecca Stein beat her opponent at first singles, 6-3, 7-5. Senior Briana Levine won at second singles, 6-4, 6-0. Alyssa Julien and Jenna Scarola beat their third doubles opponents in a three set tiebreaker, 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (7-4). Victoria Coffaro and Jenny Nussbaum also played well in a narrow loss at second doubles 3-6, 7-5, 4-6. The loss drops their record to 3-1 in league play. Their next home match is a non-league meeting with Patchogue-Medford Thursday.
