Sachem East Boys Soccer: Sachem 3, Longwood 1 ... Andrew Tinari and Jason Santos scored two minutes apart in the first half. Demetrius Tsiokas also scored. The next game is Thursday at Brentwood. Both teams are undefeated at this point. Check Sachem Patch for coverage of that game.

Sachem East Boys Cross Country: Sachem East 20, Connetquot 37 ... Sachem's Ryan Scarpelli won the three-mile race at Sunken Meadow. The Sachem harriers got off to a fast start as the race began with the T-Birds runners in close pursuit. Scarpelli led a pack of East runners through the picnic area and into the infamous Cardiac Hill. The East pack broke away from most of the T-Birds runners and dashed home to victory. Scarpelli led the way with an outstanding time of 16:06. He was followed by Tom Rascona in 16:29, Zach Patsy (16:53), Franklin Perez (17:36) and John Bruno (17:54). The team travels to New York City this weekend for the Manhattan College Invitational on the renowned Van Cortlandt Park 2.5 mile course. They continue their league season next Tuesday when they travel to Belmont Lake State Park to take on Lindenhurst.

Sachem North Girls Cross Country: Sachem 20, Lindenhurst 39 ... Kelly Lavin lead Sachem North in the win.

Sachem East Girls Cross Country: Sachem 23, Commack 36 ... Rachel Paul recorded a time of 18:53 for Sachem and won the race.

Sachem North Boys Cross Country: Northport 19, Sachem 44 ... Colin Eberhardt finished second in a time of 17:04 for the 5K and freshman John Onken set the freshmen Sachem course record for North with a time of 18:35.

Sachem North Field Hockey: Harborfields 1, Sachem 0 ... Chelsea Palma made 16 saves in the loss for Sachem.

Sachem East Field Hockey: Sachem 1, Northport 0 ... The girls remain undefeated as the top team on Long Island.
