Sachem East Girls Tennis: Sachem 4, Middle Country 3 ... It was a bitter-sweet day as Sachem is saying goodbye to eight seniors. In the deciding point of this victory, senior Rebecca Stein came from behind to defeat Jackie Buzaid, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 at first singles. Senior Briana Levine won easily at second singles, 6-1, 6-3 while fellow senior Nicole Dougherty played well in her, 2-6, 1-6 loss at third singles. Jenna Scarola also played nicely at fourth singles but lost a tough one, 3-6, 3-6. Samantha May and senior Danielle Lehmann beat their opponents at first doubles, 6-2, 6-4 and their second doubles team of senior Jenny Nussbaum and Victoria Coffaro won, 7-6, 6-2. Margaret Hartofilis and senior Alyssa Julien lost a heartbreaker in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 4-6 at third doubles. The victory over Middle Country raised Sachem's record to 8-4 and gave them possession of third place in League VI.

Sachem North Boys Cross Country: Sachem 23, Lindenhurst 36 ... Sachem was led by first place finisher Colin Eberhardt who ran 16:51 on the 5k course. He ran the second fastest time ever by a Sachem North harrier on the Sachem North 5k course. Anthony Coccialed the Sachem North pack that was the key to their win. He placed fourth overall with a time of 18:04. Chris Penteck finished right behind him with a time of 18:07 and Mike LoSchiavo was the next finisher with a time of 18:12.  Rounding out the top seven were great races by Greg Coleman (18:27), James Trofa (18:31) and freshman Pat Lavan (18:44). All seven finished ahead of Lindenhurst's fifth runner. Tuesday was also North's senior day and the coaches would like to thank seniors Colin Eberhardt, Mike LoSchiavo, Brandon Hayes, Brian Vann, Luke Daily, Brendan McCormack and Ryan Grieco for their hard work and dedication throughout the year and over the course of their cross country career at North.

Sachem East Boys Cross Country: Ward Melville 28, Sachem 29 ... Sachem lost a narrow race, but Ryan Scarpeli had the best time in the meet with a 16:58 finish.

Sachem North Girls Cross Country: Sachem 27, Commack 29 ... Kelly Lavan won with a time of 20:23. Katie Michta placed fourth with a sophomore-record 20:52.

Sachem Boys Soccer: Sachem East 3, Sachem North 0 ... East recorded its ninth shutout of the season in a rivalry win over crosstown Sachem North.

Sachem East Girls Cross Country: Ward Melville 26, Sachem 29 ... Rachel Paul had the best time for East with a 17:39 finish.

Sachem East Girls Gymnastics: Smithtown 161.525, Sachem 160.225
