A daily look at the sports action around Sachem.

Sachem North Boys Lacrosse: Sachem 12, Middle Country 4 ... Michael Andreassi led Sachem with three goals and one assist in the Division I win. North improves to 9-2 this season. Also scoring goals for Sachem were Phil Schaefer (2g, 3a), Jack Gannon (1 g), Cody Ciolino (1g), Shawn Murphy (1g, 1a), Eric Talbot (1g), Tim Lang (1g, 3a), William Murphy (1g) and Kyle Rhatigan (1g). Three goalies saw action Saturday: William Murphy (4 saves), Teddy Matos (4) and Matt Boyd (1).

Sachem East Boys Tennis: All three singles players made it to the semifinals in the division tournament. Zach Cooper opened the day with the first win beating Perter Herges in the second round. Jason Quintana won his second round match against Colin Leshinger and Dylan Quintana beat Tyler Abrahamson.  In the quarters, Jason defeated Kevin Kim of Ward Melville, and Zach Cooper defeated Max Tcherevik, also of Ward Melville. Dylan Quintana had the toughest quarter final match of the day, battling for three sets against a very determined Kenny Gaudio of Miller Place.  

At Mt. Sinai Middle School on Monday at 1 p.m. the first semifinal will see No. 1 seed Jason Quintana matched up against the No. 4 Matt Richards of Bayport Blue Point, and in the second, it will be an all Sachem East affair when the No. 2 Zach Cooper takes on his teammate No. 3 Dylan Quintana.  Both matches will be very exciting .

Sachem East Girls Track & Field: At Saturday's North Shore Invitational Rachel Paul won the 800-meter race with a time of 2 minutes, 13.7 seconds. Melanie Nortarstefano finished second in 2:17. Brittany Christiansen took first in the shot put at 37 feet, 1 inch. Kelly Maranchuck won the 1,500-walk in 7:25.6. Alyssa Genduso won the pole vault at 9 feet.

Sachem North Boys Track & Field: At the Loucks Games at White Plains High School the following ahletes competed against some of the finest competitors in the Tri-state area: Brian Wersan ran a personal best 1:56.33 in the 800 meters to place 9th out of 65 competitors.  Connor Dolan ran a personal best 4:35.77 1600 Meters.  Davon Christopher ran a PB 22.77 200 meters and Joe Johnson and Tim Randazzo finished third and seventh in a very competative pentathlon. At the Suffolk Relays at Bayport Zach Coleman (11") and Eric Yesalonis (10') tied for third in the Pole Vault.The team is looking forward to the challenge of taking on a very good Connetquot team this Thursday.
