Sachem North Girls Track & Field: The Arrows placed seventh overall at the County Division Championships. Here are some highlights ... 

Day 1: Keira Wood placed sixth in the 800-meter run. Stephanie Wood (with a career-best of more than two feet) placed fourth in TJ and Keira Wood placed sixth.  Sachem also scored twice in pole vault with Kayla Cataldo defending her 2009 Division championship. Jodi Desz tied for third. Career-best performances were had by Krystal Cheng (400-meter hurdles), Kelsie Larson (4x400), Gabriela Garcia (4x400) and Jes Heymach (PV).

Day 2: Shanice Futrell had a career-best 17' 0" long jump as she placed fourth in the event.  Sachem continued its strong field event showing at Divisions as both Kristie Michta (third) and Kristin Alfano (fourth) placed in high jump.  Sachem would score 34 of its 37 team points in field events at the two day championship meet. Keira Wood had the most exciting track moment of the meet for Sachem as she scorched Connetquot's track with a career-best 2:16.8 leadoff leg in the 4x800.  Sachem's relay squad of Keira, Brianna D'Amato (with a career-best split),  Mary Cipriano and Leanne DeQuarto (with a career-best split) ran the team's #1 relay time by more than 30 seconds as they placed fifth in the relay. D'Ashley Landry (RW) and Leanne DeQuarto (2,000-meter steeplechase) had career-best times.

Sachem North Boys Track & Field: At the Suffolk County Division Championships, Sachem North won the 4x800 relay with a time of 8:13. Joe Johnson, Dave Martins, Conor Dolan and Brian Wersan pulled out the biggest win for Sachem on the second day of the event, held at Connetquot High School.

Davon Christopher placed second in the 20o-meter relay with a time of 22.78. Davon Lawrence placed third in the same race with a time of 23.31. Dolan ran the mile in 4:33.25, but did not place. Doug Cornell placed third in the shot put with a toss of 47-8. Lawrence placed third in the 100-meter race (11.24). Tim Randazzo finished with in the pentathalon. North's 4x4 placed third (3:28.27: Johnson, Wersan, Christopher and Chris Weilbacher. North finished fourth as a team behind Longwood, Bay Shore and Northport. The boys will compete again next week at the New York State qualification meet at Port Jefferson High School June 4 and 5.

Sachem East Boys Track & Field: At the same meet, Brandon Davis scratched- because of injury, Alex Saavedra ran a 4:25 1,600-meter placing fourth and the 4x800 team of Richards, Saavedra, Rascona, and DiRienzo placed 4th with a time of 8:20.
