Sachem East Baseball: Sachem 6, Longwood 4 ... Make that seven. The Arrows only need three more wins to clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2007. Sachem beat Longwood Tuesday and will look to sweep its second straight series on Thursday as it wraps up its three-game set against the Lions on the road. Sachem, which has now won seven of its last eight games, was down 3-1 at one point and rallied back. Dean Papakonstatis, who had an RBI single to help his cause, earned the victory on the mound. Tom Trifaro hit an RBI double. Bryan Vaccaro singled in the go-ahead eventual game-winning run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Mike Amato also hit a one-out RBI single earlier in the inning, to break a 3-3 tie for Sachem.

Sachem North Baseball: Sachem 8, Connetquot 6 ... Brendan Garry pulled off a dramatic three-run homer in the eighth inning to give Sachem the lead and a win. The Arrows are now 11-3 in League II. Matt Cahill got the win.

Sachem North Boys Lacrosse: Sachem 18, Lindenhurst 9 ... Brandon Gamblin led all scorers with four goals and one assist for Sachem (8-3 Division I, 10-3 Overall), while Kyle Rhatigan scored a hat-trick and added an assists. Also scoring were Dalton Crossan (3g, 2a), Shawn Murphy (3g), Tim Lang (2g, 3a), Eric Talbot (1g), Jesse Scanna (1g) and Angelo Armine (1g). Cody Petillo had one assist, while Jack Gannon had two. The 18 goals Sachem scored are the most its netted since scoring 22 in the opening game of the season down in North Carolina. The Arrows will take on Northport Thursday on the road. Gamblin now has 42 goals this year and he joins Crossan in the 40-goal club.

Sachem East Boys Lacrosse: Connetquot 14, Sachem 4 ... Sachem was only down 6-4 at halftime, but allowed eight goals in the second half and scored non. Scoring for Sachem were A.J. Solomito, Tom Engelken, Joe Eiseman and Bill Neubert.
