Sachem North Boys Track: Ward Melville 79, Sachem 62 ... Sachem North boys track lost another heartbreaker to Ward Melville on Tuesday.  The score was 64-62 entering the relay portion of the meet. Sachem only needed to win two of the three relays to win the meet but that was not to happen.  An unexpected weak leg in the 4 x 800 relay doomed that event.  A Melville outburst in the 4 x 400 relay came at an unexpected time and dejection set in for the Arrows.

There were several bright spots for Sachem as many athletes had personal best performances on the season.  CJ Weilbacher and Alex Lazarich blasted through the 400 meters to finish 1-2 in sub 53 second times. Vinny Juliano had a PB by throwing the shot 38’ 6”.  Davon Christopher contributed greatly with wins in the 100 and 200 meter sprints.  Frank McCabe won the pole vault and Rob Yannotta won the High Jump.  Mike Scanlon led an Arrows sweep in the 400 Hurdles.  Roger Lozach, Colin Eberhardt, Darius Cooper, Alan Thorp, Mike Loschiavo and Matt Cosgrove also contributed to a spirited effort. Next up for Sachem is the Westhampton Invitational this Saturday followed by Senior Day on Monday , May 2 at 4 p.m.

Sachem East Girls Track: Northport 80, Sachem 70

Sachem North Girls Track: Sachem 79, Ward Melville 71 ... Sachem did not clinch its victory until the penultimate event of the meet.  Sachem needed to win two of the three end-of-meet relays to win the meet.  The Arrows took care of business as it won the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays in season-best times.
