A daily look at the sports action around Sachem.

Sachem North baseball: Sachem 10, Central Islip 0 ... Dan D'Orazio did it with his bat and arm. He threw a two-hitter and struck out nine, while going 3-for-5. He scored three runs and knocked in two RBI. Brendan Garry went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Sachem East baseball: Sachem 13, William Floyd 2 ... Mike Shada had a big game at the play, going 4-for-4 with a homer, two doubles and five RBI. Chris Carroll went 2-for-4 with two RBI and three runs. Taylor Genoino was 2-for-3 and scored three runs. Dean Papakonstatis allowed no earned runs and three hits in five innings of work.

Sachem East softball: Sachem 9, Ward Melville 1 ... Lindsey Treanor struck out a season high 13  and allowed just two hits and one unearned run in the victory. Kellie Zeitler and Deanna Wolf both went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Jess Caturano was 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Sachem East boys tennis: Sachem 6, Comsewogue 1 ... East won its third straight match by defeating Comsewogue 6-1. Once again the singles led the way with a dominating performance, winning all four matches by the same perfect score. Dylan Quintana, Zach Cooper, Jason Quintana and Alex Rosenfield each blanked their opponents, 6-0, 6-0. The doubles also turned in a very strong performance, winning two our of their three matches. At first doubles, Kunal Parikh and Neil Amin beat Jared Heller and Corey Leahy in straight sets 6-0, 6-4 while Nick Auffret and Additya Ramesh won in 3 sets at second doubles with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. The East boys varsity tennis team in now 3-0 on the year, and up next,  league rivals Ward Melville.

Sachem North girls track: Sachem 119, Lindenhurst 31 ... Joanna Staniewski won the shotput with a 29'11" for North (2-0). The North Arrows won 15 out of 18 events in today's dual meet.  Fourteen different athletes (a tie for 1st in the 3,000) won events.  Sachem demonstrated its depth as eight additional athletes (out of 10) placed second.  More depth was shown as 5 more athletes placed third in open events. Sisters Katie and Alyssa (Budge) and Cousins Nicole and Jodi (Desz) ran a 4x100 together today.  The family-affair relay turned in the #3 relay time of the season.

Sachem East girls track: Sachem 106, Middle Country 35 ... Lisa Luchinger won the triple jump (33-1.5) and the 100-meter race (12.8). Brittany Christiansen won the shotput (34-8) and discuss (91-3).

Sachem North boys track: Sachem 86, Lindenhurst 65 ... Joe Johnson was stud for Sachem winning the long jump (19-5), triple jump (40-11.5) and the 400-meters (52.3) and Connor Dolan won the 1600 (4:43) and 3200 (10:31). Other winners include: Tim Randazzo (400 Meter Intermediate Hurdles 63.1), Eric Yesalonis (Pole Vault 9'), Ryan Sampson (Shot Put 47' 8 1/2 "), Davon Christopher (200 Meter Dash 23.2), 4 x 400 Meter Relay Team (Tim Randazzo, Chris Weilbacher, Brian Wersan, Joe Johnson)  3:37.5, and 4 x 100 Meter Relay Team (Casey Werner, Bonifacio aguila, Darius Cooper, Davon Christopher)  46.0.

Sachem East boys track: Sachem 71, Middle Country 69 ... Greg Markfelder won the high jump (6-2) and the 400-meters (53.5). Brandon Davis won the 200-meter race (23.1).

Sachem North and East girls golf: East 8, North 1 ... Breanne Van Nostrand shot a 14-over par 49 for East on the front nine at Pine Ridge in her team's quest to win the rivalry match.
