Records Keep Falling for North Boys Track

A great season for the North Arrows has featured several broken school records.

The spring 2012 season has been a very successful few months for the Sachem North boys track and field team.

Highlighted by both team accomplishments and individual achievements, the season which still has a little less than a month to go has had some outstanding moments. Over the last few weeks the team has seen several records fall. Freshman Patrick Lavan the freshman mile record with a blazing 4:46 at the St. Anthony’s Invitational.

One week later, junior Alex Lazarich took to the track in the 800m at the prestigious Loucks Games held at White Plains High School. In the race Alex ran a 1:55.98 and broke the previous school record of 1:56.27 held by former Sachem North standout Frank Fezza.

This past Wednesday another record fell as sophomore distance runner Anthony Coccia eclipsed the sophomore mile record with his time of 4:34.70 at the Suffolk County Freshman/Sophomore Championships.
