Recap Sachem North's Run at County Championship

Colin Eberhardt earns Academic All-County at meet.

On Saturday the Sachem North boys winter track team competed at the Suffolk County Large Schools Championship. 

Sophomore Mike Kearns set the tone for the day with a huge personal best throw in the shotput of 45 feet 11 inches. Kearns placed ninth overall and was the second under-classmen finisher in the event. 

Robert Yannotta placed 14th in the 55-meter hurdles and 12th in the high jump.  Alex Lazarich continued his outstanding rookie winter track season with a third place finish in the 1,000 meters. Lazarich ran a personal best time of 2:41.40.  In the 1,600 meters Colin Eberhardt regained his cross country prowess by running a personal best time of 4:32.56.  His time was good enough for 3rd place overall.

The combination of his third place finish and a class rank in the top 10 percent of Sachem North's graduating class allowed Eberhardt to earn Academic All-County at the meet. 

In the relays, the 4x800 team of Brandon Hayes, Ryan Beierle, Alex Lazarichand Colin Eberhardt placed 6th overall in a season best time of 8:36.12. In the 4x400 the relay team of James Trofa, Jason Karpinski, Dan Stretz and Ryan Beierle placed 15th.

In the 3200 meters, Sophomore Anthony Coccia led the way with a 13th place finish in a personal best time of 10:25.80.  Senior Michael LoSchiavo continued an outstanding season with a 19th place finish in a time of 10:44.35.
