Preview: Class A Long Island Championship

Sachem East takes on Massapequa at Stony Brook.

The true test of Long Island field hockey bravado will be on display Saturday morning at Stony Brook.

Sachem East, Suffolk's best, will battle Nassau's best, Massapequa, for the crown.

At this point it's anyone's game. It's clear though that Sachem is playing on a mission. The Arrows have only allowed 11 shots this entire post-season and recorded shutouts against Lindenhurst, Bay Shore and finally Ward Melville in the Suffolk County final this week.

Massapequa, however, has a high-powered offense and has scored 12 goals in the last two games, including 6-0 over Port Washington to win the Nassau Class A title.

It will be a balanced game and most likley a low scoring victory for whoever comes out on top.
