Port Jefferson Boys Soccer Grabs Class C Tittle For Second Year

Royals beat Lansing 1-0 after both teams entered the game undefeated.

Undefeated, the Port Jefferson boys soccer team (19-0) went up against the boys from Lansing High School located near Ithaca in Upstate New York and found victory in the Class C Championship. Lansing (20-0) also went into the game undefeated.

According to a report in the Ithaca Journal, Lansing was ranked second in the state in Class C and the Port Jefferson Royals were ranked first.

Last year, the Royals beat the team from Maple Hill from Castleton, NY to become New York State champs.

"Very proud of this group," Deborah Ferry, Althletic Director of Port Jefferson School District, told Mayor Margot Garant after the game. "They are a super group of young men that represent our community well."

Garant extended her good wishes to the team.

"Congrats from every resident of Port Jefferson," she said.
