Pandolf Sisters Tearing it Up in College Lacrosse

Both Jackie at Hofstra and Jessica at Lock Haven are instrumental to their teams.

Earlier this week Jessica Pandolf, a freshman at Lock Haven, was named National Offensive Player of the Week and added to her collegiate resume by being named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year, as well as a second team All-PSAC selection.

Her older sister Jackie, a junior goalie at Hofstra, finished her season with the Pride having played every minute in net and sporting a .491 save percentage, which is eighth best in the country among Division I goalies.

She was snubbed from the All-Colonial Athletic Association team, something a source close to the situation said was probably the result of Hofstra's poor 6-10 record.

Still, the Pandolf sisters, who had exceptional careers at Sachem High School North, make up one of the best lacrosse sister duos in the country.

Jackie grabbed 55 ground balls for a 3.44 average per game (fifth in the nation), made 159 saves (ninth in the nation), averaged 10 saves per game (ninth in the nation) and had a 10.17 goals against average (37th in the nation). It's safe to say she was one of the best Division I goalies in the country in 2011 and should be even better next season.

As for her sister, the younger Pandolf scored 35 goals, which ranks her second on the team and a conference-best 65 draw controls.

Lock Haven will wait to see where they are selected for the NCAA Division II Championship. The NCAA selections will be made Sunday, May 8 at 9 p.m.
