Sachem North senior Shawn Murphy has committed to play college lacrosse at New York Institute of Technology.
He is the sixth player from North’s roster to commit from the Class of 2012. Joining him at the next level of play are (Rutgers), (UMBC), (Dowling), and (NYIT), with more to come, according to Sachem coach Jay Mauro.
"Shawn had a great summer and junior year," said Sachem coach Jay Mauro. "We expect a lot from him and he's worked hard. He will be a great addition to NYIT."

Murphy's brother Will plays college lacrosse at Manhattan.
NYIT plays in the East Coast Conference and finished 10-4 overall last season.
