North's Novak Commits to Florida Southern

Will play Division II lacrosse in the Sunshine State.

Sachem North senior Tyler Novak committed this week to play lacrosse at Florida Southern, a Division II school, next year.

“Tyler is a great kid who has been a member of the varsity for three years,” said Sachem coach Jay Mauro. “He is a great teammate and one of the toughest kids I have coached.”

Sachem has been on a tear this off-season with 10 players committing to play lacrosse at the next level, plus junior Tyler Andreassi, who committed to Massachusetts last month.

This is the largest amount of college-bound players Mauro has had on a roster at Sachem since taking over the program in 2005.

Last season Florida Southern, known as the Moccasins, lost in the Deep South Conference finals to Catawba College and finished 8-7 overall.
