Live Playoff In-Game Blog: No. 1 Sachem vs. No. 8 Brentwood

Arrows host Indians in first round Division I playoff action.

The playoffs are finally here. Sachem and Brentwood will battle it out in the first round of the Suffolk County Division I bracket. If Sachem wins, it will move onto the quarterfinals and face the lowest remaining seed.

This is the second time these teams have played this year. In Week 3, Sachem laid the smack down on the Indians in a 48-8 victory. Brentwood, who comes into this game at 4-4, has little chance and coming out a winner, but will try and keep Sachem's scoring totals down.

Sachem is 8-0 for the second straight season and just the third time in program history. The 1996 team also started 8-0 and the 1983 team was 7-0-1 at that point of the season.

FIRST QUARTER

12:00: Sachem is back to receive, but Brentwood attempted an onside kick and seemed to recover. An illegal touch penalty got the ball back in the hands of Sachem.

10:08: Andreassi finished what he started as he crossed the goal line for a 2-yard touchdown run.  The extra point by Bryan Morris is good and Sachem jumps out to a quick lead. Sachem 7, Brentwood 0

7:59: Vincent Provenzano came up with an interception on third down and the Arrows will start their next drive at the Brentwood 30-yard line.

7:51: Jesse Scanna, who made two tackles on Brentwood's last drive, seemed to go 30 yards for the touchdown, but it was called back on a holding pentalty.

2:00: Can anyone beat Sachem North?  No one has come close yet.

Sachem will take over at their own 43 yard line after Brentwood's last drive featuring their second stringers was stopped.  Sachem's own offensive second stringers will get a shot now as they look to keep their starters healthy.  Nicholas Iannello doesn't look like a second string running back as he pulls out two long runs in a row.

Final: Sachem 42, Brentwood 14
