Hennelly Continues to Excel on College Diamond

North alum is named top rookie in New Jersey for the third time in five weeks.

Brian Hennelly shows no signs of cooling off.

The Sachem North grad is tearing things up for the Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team and last week, he was once again named the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association's Rookie of the Week.

That made it the third time in five weeks the freshman outfielder has claimed that honor.

Hennelly began his big week week with a grand slam in a 12-3 win over No. 21 Ramapo College and then stroked a two-run shot against Ithaca in the 10-6 victory. He also doubled in the first game of the three-game series with the Bombers in a three-hit day at the plate.

As of last week, Hennelly, who helped led the Flaming Arrows to a county last year, led the Ducks with a .474 batting average.
