Former Sachem Coach, Teacher Dom Savino Named Head Basketball Coach at Adelphi University

Tabbed after three seasons of being assistant behind James Cosgrove.

Former Sachem High School coach and teacher Dom Savino has been named the head basketball coach at Adelphi University, where he has been an assistant for three seasons.

He takes over from James Cosgrove, who spent eight seasons at the helm of the program.

"This is my dream job. I can't think of any place I'd rather be," Savino said. "I know the great tradition of Adelphi men's basketball. I would like to thank the team and the school for their support and I can't thank coach Cosgrove enough for his help and guidance. I can't wait to get started."
