East Girls Lax Opens Season With Victory
Beats Miller Place, 11-9, in non-league action last week.
The Sachem East varsity girls lacrosse squad opened their season last Friday, March 16 with an 11-9 non league victory over Miller Place.
Sachem had a 7-3 halftime lead, which outlasted a surging Miller Place in the second half to win the game.
Eight different players scored for Sachem: Junior Jenna Kelleher had two goals, senior Amanda Shelton has two goals and one assist, eighth grader Cara Trombetta had two goals, senior Theresa Guiliano had one goal, sophomores Jackie Wasilko and Casey Gelderman each had a goal, and sophomore Katie Trombetta and freshman Katie Shanahan each had a goal and an assist.
