East Girls Bowling Drops Opening Match

Loses rivalry bout to Patchogue-Medford, 2-1.

In the first match of the season, Sachem East varsity girls bowling lost to Patchogue-Medford, 2-1, Monday at  in Patchogue.

High Bowlers:  Senior Chrissy Malinowski with a 181 in the third game of a 505 series and freshman Olivia DiStefano with a 178 in the second game of a 443 series.

Quote: Head coach Diane Groneman expects, "to see a steady improvement in scores as the season progresses and I am confident that the team will make it to the playoffs this year."

Bottom Line:  Sachem East has a solid bowling team that is expected to improve throughout the season.
